A chartered guild of the Puppeteers of America
Serving Oregon and Southwestern Washington since 1975

The next CAP meeting will be on Thursday July 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Lincoln Performance Hall
Portland State University
1620 SW Park Ave. Portland, OR 97201

We'll meet briefly in the lobby before seeing:

Wow, sounds like fun, doesn't it?????

Shae Uisna, CAP's new Vice President of Programs, has kindly offered CAP members a discount on tickets for Thursday evening, July 17, so for only $10, you get a meeting and a performance of her show, Bitchin'tella! The Cajun Puppet Musical.

Charged with the vitality of Cajun music, dance, sex, and heat, Bitchin'tella is a fractured fairytale full of sensual pleasures, wild river indulgences and life and death struggles.

Denizens of a Mississippi riverboat cafe, Papa Fork, Mama Spoon, and all their children, spoons and forks and cups and dishes, savor life aboard the good ship Lolli'toots, until the arrival of Bitchin'tella, a ruthless, gold-digging man-eater who causes the paddle wheel of fortune to spin wildly out of control.

The production uses rod, shadow, and other puppets to create wonderful total theatre with nightmare Barbie puppet moments and visual richness as we go from heaven to hell on the Mississippi.

Rated R for language, puppet nudity, pirate humor, nightmare elements, and deviant pickle behavior. Under 15 not admitted. Running time: 80 minutes with one intermission

This is an adult puppet show, so be advised.

You need to call the PSU Box Office at (503) 725-3307
to reserve your discounted CAP Tickets.
You access your discount by telling the box office that you're with CAP.

[Ping Pong is Building a New Puppet Museum]

CAP's own Olde World Puppet Theatre has an on-line puppet museum featuring puppet activities that are fun and educational for the whole family. There are already lots of pages and pictures, and more are added almost every week.

There are puppets that you can download and build, pictures of puppets, puppet history, links to puppet sites around the world, and an ongoing feature describing the Olde World Puppet Theatre building puppets for several different productions, including Tears of Joy Theatre's production: Perseus, Hero of Ancient Greece.
